COLONIAL SOLUTIONS

Have you heard many good records to be released this year? I've heard a couple, but not so many that I can afford not to recommend one that may not have been heard so widely just yet.

If you're not on 'Sailor Uni' Tim's mailing list you likely have yet to make the acquaintance of Colonial Solutions, the latest from his Dark Chocolate Chips project.

It's a real flipper. You know, one of those cassettes you can flip between sides over and over, content to hear the same fragments of music repeatedly. Music in all different directions. Basement glamour, literate punk, nauseating ambient sound emission, political sound collage... ALL THAT GOOD STUFF. Tim is a truly formidable songwriter, and an interesting sound maker.

Also notable is the odd structure of the album. The B side playing out as an alternate uni version of the A, composed of remixed / remashed / rehashed or otherwise warf'd out versions of the initial side. Or at least that's what Tim tells me. It all sounds gravy fresh to me dood.

Tim is a major playah on the new Twig platter (and platters previous) so if you're in the habit of reading my recommendations on this neglected blog or dig on Twig, do yourself a favour and check this shit out. You won't find it on apple Music anytime soon.

STREAM THE A SIDE HERE.

DL THE WHOLE SHEBANG FOR FWEE.
